The aftermath

Sunday night we had a HUGE storm come through here. Monday we had to start sorting our pairs.
We must have had some kind of hurricane force winds or a tornado. They said there were 70 mph gusts, I think that was steady winds here. We had 3 Sumac trees in the yard go down, and a lilac in the barnyard go down. The power never went out! The water tanks were good, and everything at the barn was good. Except one of our 20 foot stock trailers got tossed through the air! It was about 15 feet away, turned the opposite direction and straddling the fence! Nothing else was a miss. STRANGE!
No humans or animals were hurt. Just a little spooked is all.

The Sumac trees that are no more. I really liked those trees too!

They missed the bird bath and didn't smash the feeder.

Coming off the top onto the meadows and to the sorting lot. Love the view from on top!

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. That was some storm! We were very fortunate and only got rain, but you folks between Ritzville and Spokane really got blasted by it. We sat home watching it on TV and walking outside every now and then to see if we were going to get hit.
Sorry about your trees and stock trailer, but very happy that no one was hurt.

  2. I can't believe you didn't lose power. Is the trailer salvageable? Sorry for the damage, but with my customary "Pollyanna" attitude, I'm glad your house and you are OK. My husband just came through and wanted to know where those pretty photos were from! Have a great day!

  3. It sounds like you had a micro-burst of some sort. Crazy. Sorry about the Sumacs. It takes so long for them to grow that it really hurts when they snap off in an instant. Glad all livestock and people are ok.

  4. I'm going to miss those trees too. Good photo ops they were. So glad no animal was hurt just spooked. Remember the 4th of July storm a few years back---no dust storm though. How much damage to the stock trailer? Beautiful views of the cows. Love that last shot. M

  5. Wow so glad that it missed the house and missed the feeder. It's amazing that the power didn't go out. Hopefully the storms are almost over for the year since autumn is near :)

  6. Beautiful views, absolutely amazing! I'm so sorry about your trees. I know you loved them, you've mentioned that before. Dang wind, it can really ruin things.

  7. You didn't mention how the dogs made out. Remember Toto in the wizard of Oz? That was traumatic and we want to know that Smokey and Bandit (and the kitty cats) are OK! Bob
