Down to 6

Calving so far has been pretty uneventful. Nothing out of the ordinary. A few backwards calves, a few upside down and a C-section last night in a heifer. There's 6 heifers left to go. Then I'm gonna throw darts at a map and figure out where my road trip will take me. Cameron and I like to hit the road before we get the bulls in and start branding. What? Cant believe we are already "thinking" about getting the bulls ready and branding! You can never be to prepared ya know.

Some randoms around the ranch yesterday and today.

A different type of mama and baby.

Saw this beauty in the heifer pasture. I'm sure eating afterbirth.

  4. Cheri, these are wonderful. Not sure which is my favorite...glad calving is about over for you. Who does your c-sections? I wondered if one or both of you can do them or if you have to call the vet.

  5. I love sunset skies, and that Thursday one is spectacular. But the 3-shaped squiggle in the Wednesday sunset is pretty cool, too! Having just six left to calve sounds good to me, especially since we have snow and ice coming again this weekend.

  6. Beautiful set of pics. The eagles stick around here for calving, you see them flying off with goodies. They are almost gone this year .
