Quail in the snow

When the weather gets cold the quail show up in the yard. We had a good hatch of quail, wild turkey and pheasants this year. I feed the quail in the yard. They are such fragile little things. And so fun to watch!

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. What a bunch of beauties. There used to be lots around here, but they faded away.

A worry stone is a small flat stone one can hold in their palm and rub with a thumb when times are not working well.

  2. I like them too. You're not going to have snow in 2 weeks are you? NO!

  8. I don't usually see quail that up close and personal. They are usually racing into a ditch as I drive by, or I scare them up when I'm walking. Have a great day, Cheri!

  9. Cheri,

It is fun to see wild life around the ranch. We have been seeing a lot of sharp-tailed grouse close to the house.

We don't like deer in the yard as the little bucks rub on and destroy the cedar trees around the house. Our neighbors live along a creek and have a lot of wild turkey's in their yard. I wouldn't like them in my yard, but enjoy seeing them around.

  11. Oh, lucky you!!! I'd love to have quail in my yard but that's not likely, given the terrain. And I've never seen your kind of quail but I think they're gorgeous.

  12. Way to go on getting a photo of the quail. I have been trying to get a decent picture of them all year long but they move so quickly that it's hard to photograph them. I think they are fun and cute birds.
